Definition:

The person or organization responsible for making the digital resource available. This is often the same as the Institution listed in the Institution field.

However, the holding institution may not have digitized the object being described. In this case, the holding institution is named in the Institution field and the creator of the digital resource is named in the Publisher of Digital field.

If outsourcing was paid for by an insitution, enter the organization that paid for the digital imaging and and/or metadata creation in the Publisher of Digital field



Examples:

Niagara University holds the item and created the digital resource.

          Institution: Niagara University
          Publisher of Digital: Niagara University

Amhert Museum holds the items and pays WNYLRC to scan the images.

          Institution: Amherst Museum
          Publisher of Digital: Amherst Museum
